Terms of Use

Last updated 16 August 2026

Hey PT writes you a strength-training session each day and adapts it as it learns how you train. These are the terms you agree to by using it.

Hey PT is not medical advice

This is the important one, so it goes first. Hey PT is a coaching tool, not a clinician. It does not diagnose, treat or assess anything. It programmes around conditions and injuries you tell it about, and it takes what you say at face value — it has no way to examine you and it will not pretend otherwise.

If something is new, sharp, or getting worse, stop and see a professional. Tell the coach and it will train around it, but it is not a substitute for someone who can put hands on you. If you have a medical condition, are pregnant, or are returning from an injury, talk to a doctor or physiotherapist before starting a new programme.

You are responsible for how you lift and for stopping when something is wrong. Resistance training carries risk of injury. By using Hey PT you accept that risk and confirm you are fit to train.

The coaching is generated, and generated things are sometimes wrong

Hey PT's sessions and replies are produced by an AI model. It is good, and it is not infallible. It can prescribe a load that is too heavy, misread something you told it, or state something about training that is simply incorrect.

Treat every prescription as a suggestion from a coach who cannot see you — because that is exactly what it is. If a prescription looks wrong, it probably is. Do not do it. Every session is editable and every set is correctable before you train.

If the coach ever says something harmful, offensive, or clinically wrong, report it — there is a report control on every coach message, and it comes straight to us. We review reports and we act on them.

Your account

You need to be 16 or over. One account per person; do not share it. You are responsible for what happens under your account, and for keeping your Apple ID or Google account secure — those are the only ways in, and we never hold a password.

You can delete your account from Settings at any time. It takes everything with it. We can suspend or remove an account that abuses the service, attacks the infrastructure, or uses Hey PT to generate content that breaks these terms.

What you put in, and what comes out

Your training data is yours. You can export it from Settings whenever you like, and deleting your account deletes it. We claim no ownership of what you write.

We own Hey PT itself — the app, the coaching methodology, the exercise library and the interface. Exercise media is licensed from a third-party provider and may not be extracted or redistributed.

Beta

Hey PT is beta software. Things will break, sessions will occasionally be odd, and features will change. It is provided as-is, without warranty. To the extent the law allows, our liability to you is limited to the amount you have paid us — and during beta that is nothing. Nothing here limits liability for death or personal injury caused by our negligence, or for anything else that cannot lawfully be excluded.

Changes and governing law

We will tell you in the app if these terms change materially. They are governed by the law of England and Wales.
